Your mission

As Head of Finance (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in driving the Company’s financial performance and supporting its strategic growth. You will lead the Finance function across financial reporting, governance, liquidity, compliance, and strategic financial planning, while providing financial insight to senior management and supporting key commercial, financing, and investment decisions. You will also lead and develop the Finance team and act as a key partner to the wider business and external stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the Company’s long-term business objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and support to the Managing Director Finance and executive management.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory reporting in accordance with applicable German accounting and tax requirements, including HGB, as well as relevant international standards (IFRS) where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable German financial, tax, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Prepare and lead financial shareholder and debtholder reporting, including for board, shareholder and debtholder meetings.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes together with the Controlling function.
  • Manage liquidity, cash flow forecasting, working capital, banking relationships, and treasury activities to optimise the Company’s financial performance.
  • Support financing activities, shareholder communications, financial due diligence processes, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Support the commercial team on finance and compliance-related matters, including customer KYC requests and commercial discussions where financial input is required.
  • Oversee HR- and payroll-related financial operations in coordination with HR and external providers where applicable.
  • Support the preparation of board packs, presentations, and management materials together with the Controlling function.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance team, including performance management, mentoring, and team development.
  • Implement and transition, as required from time to time, new financial reporting tools and systems.
  • Act as a key liaison between internal departments and external advisors, auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.

Your profile

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, controlling, or finance, including 3-5 years in a senior finance or leadership role.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of German and international financial reporting requirements, including HGB and IFRS.
  • Proven experience leading finance activities and teams, ideally within the energy or a related sector.
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear business insights.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, advisors, auditors, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders.
  • Experience with external audits, third-party accounting providers, international finance, or cross-border compliance is an advantage.
  • An understanding of the commercial dynamics of the energy sector and infrastructure investments is a plus.
  • Fluency in German and high proficiency in English.
