Your mission

This is a pivotal role within a small but high-performing legal team. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Counsel across a broad range of matters, providing legal support to the company’s regulatory, commercial, operational, and management teams.

Key responsibilities include:

            •           Advising on a wide range of German law and EU regulatory matters, with a particular focus on energy infrastructure and LNG terminal operations.
            •           Supporting and managing administrative, competition, and regulatory matters, including liaising with external counsel.
            •           Ensuring the company’s continued compliance with national and EU-level regulations, permit obligations, and environmental and safety frameworks.
            •           Overseeing and maintaining the company’s permits and licences relevant to the FSRU terminal operations in Northern Germany.
            •           Assisting with commercial contract drafting and negotiation, joint ventures, and supplier agreements.
            •           Advising on broader corporate governance and compliance matters across the group’s European entities.
            •           Providing clear, pragmatic guidance to non-legal colleagues and contributing to the company’s overall strategic objectives.

Your profile

  • Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist with at least one honors degree (“Prädikatsexamen”)).
  • Minimum 4–7 years’ PQE gained in private practice or in-house, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, or regulated industry sectors.
  • Excellent knowledge of German administrative, commercial and corporate a well as competition law; familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Ability to engage confidently with public authorities and regulators.
  • Strong drafting and communication skills in both German and English (fluent required).
  • High degree of integrity, organisational skill, and professional judgement.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in an international, fast-moving environment with varied and complex legal challenges.
