Your mission

As the HSEQ Site Officer (m/f/d), you actively support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) standards at the site. You ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
Working closely with employees, contractors, and management, you promote safe working practices, identify and mitigate risks, and contribute to the ongoing development of a strong HSEQ culture. Through your commitment, you help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Support the HSEQ Manager in implementing, maintaining, and improving the HSEQ management system and Integrated Management System (IMS) in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and regular site visits within terminal facilities and onboard LNG carriers to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and procedures.
  • Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-conformities, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), method statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation.
  • Monitor HSEQ KPIs and maintain records related to incidents, near misses, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external HSEQ audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct HSEQ inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to promote safety awareness and a strong safety culture.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements and review relevant safety documentation before work commencement.
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Your profile

  • Degree or technical qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field
  • Several years of HSEQ experience, ideally in industry, terminal operations, shipping, or the energy sector
  • Knowledge of relevant German occupational safety regulations as well as ISO standards 
  • Experience in risk assessments, safety inspections, audits, and incident investigation
  • Familiarity with Permit-to-Work systems, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and HSEQ documentation
  • Strong communication skills with experience delivering training, inductions, and safety briefings
  • Very good command of German and English
  • Structured, reliable, and team-oriented working style
